"FIT at FIVE"

Fit at The Canfield Fair ???????????

Date:  August 27, 2007

Canfield Fair time!  Lots of fried fattening greasy sugary foods that we have grown up on that do taste good.  So how do we fit them into Fitnesst Living?

  1. Don't go to the fair starved.  Not eating all day awaiting to arrive and gorge yourself to an upset stomach with as much greasy fatty sugary fair food your body can hold is not smart.

  2. Eat a healthy breakfast and lunch then allow yourself a free afternoon/evening enjoying your favorites.

  3. Eat slowly and keep walking.  Pace  yourself.  If there for 4 hours, think about the foods you love, eat 1 thing at a time, enjoy it, walk a little before getting the next item.

  4. Try not to splurge 2 fair days in a row.  Spread them out with a day in between.

  5. Keep hydrated, water, water, water.  Or try a lemon shake with Splenda instead of sugar-really refreshing.

  6. Don't waste calories on regular pop and sugary drinks-so not worth it.

  7. A few stats on your choices to help understand what you are putting into your body:

  •      Cotton Candy, 171 calories, 0 fat grams

  •      Candy Apple, 332 calories, .5 fat grams

  •      Corn Dog, 400 calories, 22 fat grams

  •      Onion Rings, 500 calories, 32 fat grams

  •      Fried Dough, 1000 calories, 55 fat grams

Watch those fried foods, they are SO HIGH in CALORIES and FAT.

   8.  Keep Walking-it is a great place to keep moving/walking.

Enjoy and Be Safe!
