The kids are
back in school, summer is winding down, and after school activities
can make for a hectic late afternoon/evening. This is the perfect
time to plan meals. The weekends allow time for the weekly meal
plan, grocery shopping, and preparation of foods that can be made
and/or frozen for easy quick meals during the week. This eliminates
the last minute "what do I do so I'll just grab whatever" which is
usually high fat unhealthy fast food and sweets. The Graphics:
-
Schedule time
to plan your meals around the known school and work schedules
that are already set.
-
Make a grocery
list in conjunction with your meals planned including healthy
snacks.
-
Schedule your
grocery shopping time, and stick to the foods on the list.
-
Meals mean
breakfast, lunch, and dinner-prepare for all 3.
-
If you do
include fast food 1 evening or pizza, make healthier
choices-grilled chicken or veggie burgers, turkey sandwiches,
plain non buttered buns, baked potatoes, thin pizza crusts,
light cheese, and sugar free drinks.
-
Planning
and being prepared are key to healthy living. You would not get
in the car and just go-so why leave your meals to chance-your
most important energy source.
