I attended one
of the largest Health & Fitness Industry Conferences this past
weekend, Club Industry in Chicago. So what
is new and hot?
-
Strong emphasis on how to
keep people motivated to exercise. Why, because it is so
important to quality of life.
a. You
MUST make a commitment to
exercise 3 to 4 days per week.
b. Budget a specific amount of
money for your fitness just like you budget for food and living
expenses. Determine what you can afford and then get with an
exercise professional to develop an exercise program
specifically for you within that budget.
-
Circuit Training is becoming
popular which takes one moving quickly from various machines
within a 30 to 40 minute period. The concept is to get a fat
burning and strength training workout simultaneously.
-
Equipment is beginning to have
the technology to interface with your IPOD, Blackberry, and/or
computer. Your workout is recorded on a thumb drive or key that
can then be downloaded to your computer allowing you to track
your workouts and progress.
-
Zoomba is the latest exercise
class craze from Miami, FL. It incorporates energizing
motivating Latin/Asian music to fun, dancy, very upbeat moves.
-
You will be seeing a more
integrated relationship between health care providers and
fitness professionals as we strive for quality of life into our
50's, 60's, 70's and beyond.
It's not just
